What is FFP?

FFP (Fleet Failure Predictor) is a two-part fleet management platform built for commercial trucking and logistics companies operating in South Africa.

It pairs a web dashboard for owners and managers with a mobile app for drivers, mechanics, and support teams. Together they replace paper-based workflows, radio call gaps, and disconnected spreadsheets with one connected system.

The owner creates trips and manages the fleet from a browser. The driver sees the job on their phone, logs fuel, and delivers proof of delivery. If the truck breaks down, the mechanic gets an instant callout with GPS coordinates. Every action - from odometer entry to breakdown resolution - feeds back into live reports.

The Two Parts

Web Dashboard

The command centre for owners and managers. Run the entire fleet from a browser: create trips, monitor breakdowns, track compliance, and pull monthly profit reports. Drivers are blocked from the web app by design - it is an admin-only workspace.

Key capabilities:

• Fleet management: trucks, trailers, support vehicles, and buses - each with full service, damage, and odometer history
• Trip builder: assign truck, trailer, and driver; build a 4-step route; set deadline and expected revenue; monitor live status from ASSIGNED through to DELIVERED
• Breakdowns: log incidents, assign mechanics, link supplier invoices, track repair costs
• Compliance: track licences, roadworthy certificates, operator cards, PrDP/PDP, cross-border permits, and more - with amber warnings before anything lapses
• Monthly reports: auto-populated management report with PDF export covering revenue, fuel, maintenance, damage, and profit per truck
• Toll fees and abnormal loads: record SANRAL toll expenses and plan oversized load movements with permit costs and escort tracking

Mobile App (iOS and Android)

The field tool for everyone on the road. Built in Flutter. Works offline, syncs automatically, and shows each role only what they need.

Drivers see their active trip, navigate via Waze or Google Maps, photograph fuel slips (OCR extracts the data), submit odometer readings, and upload proof of delivery at the drop-off point. They can also report breakdowns and vehicle defects directly from the app.

Mechanics receive live breakdown callouts the moment a driver reports an incident. The callout includes GPS coordinates, photos, truck details, and driver contact. The mechanic accepts the job, navigates to the site, finds the nearest supplier from the web-configured directory, and tracks repair cost through to resolution.

Controllers get a manager-level fleet overview on mobile: live trip statuses, active breakdowns, and fleet summary.

Built for SA Roads

FFP is built specifically for the South African market.

Offline-first by necessity. All forms - fuel logs, odometers, PODs, breakdown reports, damage entries - can be completed and queued with no connectivity. An on-device queue holds pending submissions and syncs automatically when signal returns. It works through tunnels, remote regions, and low-signal corridors. SA roads are not office Wi-Fi.

ZAR-native. All revenue, costs, and reports are in South African Rand. Toll recording is built around SANRAL accounts. Compliance covers PrDP/PDP, operator cards, and roadworthy certificates - the documents SA fleet operators actually deal with.

Compliance that keeps you legal. The compliance module tracks 10 document types across your entire fleet and driver roster. Expiring documents turn amber in the dashboard before they lapse. Drivers can see their own licence and vehicle compliance dates on mobile before they get stopped.

How the Lease Works

Rather than a once-off purchase, you lease access to FFP on a monthly or annual basis. Echo Software handles all hosting, maintenance, security, and updates. You focus on running your fleet.
